Over the weekend, we got to go on a little family staycation at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale. They have a ton of great family friendly activities and so many things to see on their vast grounds. I am sharing my review and thoughts on the resort with all of its amenities with you all today!
*Our stay at the Westin was hosted by the resort. All opinions about the resort in Scottsdale and their amenities are my own.
Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale
First of all, the grounds here are beautiful! The entire hotel goes off the theme of “living well” and it truly shows in the relaxing and serene nature of the hotel and its surroundings. The inside of the hotel is wonderful as well, very modern by spa-like at the same time. The views are breathtaking, overlooking the mountains and the golf course.
We stayed in one of the Junior Suites, and this is perfect if you are a family traveling with children! There is one room with a King Bed for the parents, and the then the adjoining room has two beds for the kids. There are bathrooms in each and plenty of space, even for our family of six!
The six of us went to Nellie Cashman’s for dinner, which is a steakhouse on the resort grounds. Everything there is local to Arizona. They use barrel-aged liquors in their speciality cocktails (delicious by the way!) and use local meats for their dishes.
The food was so delicious! My husband really loved their steak menu, with a large variety of cuts, sauces, and sides to really customize your meal. They even had a little kids buffet set-up, with all kinds of options for the little ones. From corn dogs, to Mac n’ Cheese, to chicken tenders (and of course desserts), it was so nice to have those options for the kids, while the adults could order off of the normal, high-end dinner menu.
On Saturday’s during the summer, guests of the resort may cool off with a bevy of frosty offerings to include the all-new Polar Plunge, a larger-than-life, 300-pound ice-cube drop into the resort’s Adventure Pool, choreographed FlowRider shows and wintery igloo-inspired cabanas. In addition, a spirited sequence of tented chill stations offer cooling spa and beauty treatments, arts and crafts activities for the kid in everyone, icy sweet treats, live entertainers and more.
They have a s’mores station set up next to the FlowRider, which my children LOVED. They got to pick their own marshmallows and chocolate addition, and then we all got to sit and watch the FlowRider in action.
On Sunday, we spent the entire day enjoying the pool. They have a lazy river, a water slide, and a wade-in pool that was perfect for my twins who aren’t quite in the “swim on their own” stage yet.
There are plenty of food and drink options to enjoy right by the pool, and we all loved our time there!
Enjoy the resort’s Big Chill Package with rates starting from $159, based on availability, with a $50 per room, per night dining credit. Deal code: BIGDINE. Check out their website to book your stay at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale.
*Cheers to family staycations and fun in the sun*
