Yesterday was one of those days that I just felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and I had this overwhelming feeling that I was going to need some extra strength to get me through.
We just got done having visitors in town, I could tell our girls were feeling a little overstimulated and exhausted, I was trying to catch up on writing and school work, not to mention the whole “being pregnant with twins” thing I have going on right now. Utter exhaustion doesn’t even begin to summarize the day.
I would love to be able to say that everyday of my life I am constantly turning to God and the Bible for strength, peace, and advice… unfortunately, I can’t. Sometimes we just get busy, other times we just try to do everything on our own rather than turn to the one constant that can always point us in the right direction.
With that being said, even if I haven’t taken the time to sit and reflect on His Word in a few days, or just stopped to say “thank you” for all of the craziness in my life, I know that I can always go back to it and it will always be there.
Verses for Strength and Peace
There are more verses than I could ever name that help bring peace, comfort and strength. These are the few that will forever stick with me and that I can put on replay over and over again in my head for days like yesterday.
Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This is great for those times when you feel lonely, even if you are surrounded by children and loved ones. I think as parents especially, sometimes we can feel completely on our own even though we are watching our children or even though we have the most supportive partner in the world. It is the perfect reminder that He is delicately holding us up with care and comfort.
John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
So important to have great words to turn to and contemplate on for strength during those tough days in motherhood…I have to remind myself to try this more often to get through the day!!

Wonderful verses! I try to read Our Daily Bread everyday. It’s a great way to get into the word and remind me what is important.
