Last week was a pretty big one. You can click on the links to take a look at the Weeks 17-18 Update and the big Twin Gender Reveal.
This week has been a pretty emotional one, with finding out what we are having which is always such an amazing and fun time, as well as finding out that there could be something to worry about with one of our sweet babies. I share more about that in last weeks update. Surprisingly for me, I am completely at peace with the situation. I battled with it for a little while but then realized that the Lord has it in control, and regardless of what the outcome is, both of these sweet kiddos are ours and we love them unconditionally no matter what.
The twins are both now about the size of a large tomato.
Twin Pregnancy Update: Week 19
Genders and Names: One of each! Oliver and Annabelle:) You can read more about the reasons behind their names in our Gender Reveal post as well.
Weight Gain: I am headed into my 19th week now and I am still sitting at about a 7 lb weight gain. I feel like that number might go up in these next weeks because it’s about time for the babies to hit their growth spurt! The babies each weigh about 10 ounces right now.
Sleep: Or lack thereof. I have had a really hard time getting comfortable the past few days especially. It seems to be because I have the fibroid on the left side of my uterus, one baby way down low, and the other baby on the right side and up higher. So, I struggle to find a position that isn’t painful or that doesn’t feel like I am squishing the babies.
Food Cravings: Blueberries! I could eat frozen blueberries all day, everyday!
Food Aversions: As always, meat. However, I have been eating turkey pretty easily so that’s a good step! I actually haven’t had a huge appetite lately at all.
Symptoms: Having to pee quite often. Our sweet little Annabelle is right down near the base of my uterus and with everything else happening in there, the weight just makes me feel like I constantly have to pee. Not to mention, I am so thirsty all the time so I am constantly drinking water. My skin has also been ridiculously dry which is annoying. At night especially, my legs itch so badly. I had to change my shampoo because even my scalp has been dry, which has never happened in my life. Crazy hormonal changes! Not my belly though because of my anti-stretch mark concoction that I’ve been using! I also have been getting extremely car sick the entire pregnancy… I wish that symptom would have left with the rest of the first trimester nausea.
Clothing: It is getting much warmer in AZ. Thankfully, pregnant ladies live in leggings, stretchy pants, skirts, sun dresses, and maxi dresses because they are so easy to wear with this growing belly. Spring Maternity Post on Thursday:)
Exciting Moments: Deciding on names for our little ones is always fun for my husband and I! I also received my fetal doppler monitor, which you can rent and then listen to the babies heartbeats for yourself at home. I have done this with all of my pregnancies and it just gives me such a sense of relief to do before I go to bed at night. I know… I’m kind of weird and absolutely a worrier!
Belly update: Growing more and more! I feel like I am all of sudden growing bigger and bigger every single day and definitely rounding out more.
Thoughts from these past week:
- Our poor little man is going to be so outnumbered with three sisters, but I know they will just adore him.
- What do I do with a boy? I’ve been a mom of only girls so now, it seems like I have to re-learn it all for my son.
- Juggling four kids under four years old is starting to be a scary and crazy reality now.
- My other two girls were pretty big babies… I wonder how large this two are going to get?
- We have made a list of everything we have to get for these kiddos… Oh. My. Goodness. There is just so much!
Do you all have special meanings behind your kids names, or name them specifically for family reasons?
*Here’s to growing and healthy babies*

Thank you:) I am getting there I think! Haha
How exciting! I think you are right though that your weight gain is going to go up as they start growing but that’s a good thing. One of each seems like fun for twins.
