A few weeks back, we hosted a Traveling Vineyard wine party at home. Of course, after tasting all of the Traveling Vineyard wines that we had there to sample, had to pick up a few for myself.

review of a sparkling rose and cabernet sauvignon from traveling vineyard winesI am not going to rate these wines because, obviously, I chose to buy them and think that they are extremely tasty wine choices.

Traveling Vineyard Wines

Fissata Sparkling Rose:

This wine was a new choice for me. I don’t normally go for overly sweet wines, especially when it comes to sparkling and champagnes, but this has such a great flavor profile.

Bouquet: A hint of floral with heavy notes of fresh red berry

Tasting Notes: Palate of sweet red berries and a hint of nutty flavors play well together in this sparkling wine. You really get notes of peach in there, which is a pleasant addition. The bubbles are not too much, but just enough to make it enjoyable over and over again. An excellent choice for a dessert-type wine.

One of the recommendations for this was to serve it over a scoop of sorbet or vanilla ice cream for a type of wine float. Yes please! I can’t wait to try this out. It would be such a fun addition to a girls night or a bachelorette party or anything like that.

IMG_5163Heist Cabernet Sauvignon:

This one was an obvious choice for me. It was a favorite of the wine guides who helped host my wine party, and it was the top of my list after tasting them all. I cannot resist a good red wine.

Bouquet: Jammy with a hint of smoke or oak notes

Tasting: Heavy on the notes of blackberry and jammy berry notes. There is a hint of chocolate flavor on the finish combined with oak, which really plays well together. Really smooth and not overly dry for a cabernet.

As we head into the cooler months and fall/winter food options, this is the perfect choice for a dinner wine or a gift. It has excellent depth and flavor, but isn’t too overpowering in one note direction or the other. Love! I will absolutely be repurchasing this one again.

*Cheers to discovering new wine favorites*
