Here in Arizona, Spring only last’s for a short time period before transitioning to the intense heat that is summer. For all of you mama’s out there that will be pregnant during the summer… I feel your pain! I’m in my third trimester of a twin pregnancy and the heat is my worst enemy. It is already pushing the high 90’s here and I feel like I have been in summer outfits for the past three months already.
Today I am sharing some of my go-to styles in maternity wear for the summer months. I will link to everything I can find online and list all of the stores where I purchased the items from.
(Disclaimer: All opinions and clothing items were purchased by me. Although I have some obvious favorites in terms of the companies I purchase from, this is not in any way a sponsored or affiliated post.)
Maternity Outfit Ideas for Summer
No one wants to feel frumpy and like they can’t wear cute clothing just because they have a growing baby bump. Baby bumps are beautiful in all shapes and sizes, so why not wear clothing and put together outfits that show off all of that cuteness!
Anything that you can throw on easily over your growing baby bump and that will give you some airflow will be your best friend when it comes to maternity clothing and the heat. Maxi dresses and midi dresses are my go-to styles when I want to look put together, but I don’t want to put a lot of thought into piecing an outfit together. Adding in some accessories can really just make the outfit.

Maternity shorts have quickly become something that I can’t live without. I honestly don’t know how I survived during my last pregnancy without them. I may have just lived in exercise/stretchy clothing. Finding a couple good pairs of maternity shorts that are comfortable, flattering, and easy to match with a lot of tops is crucial for the summer time maternity style. I love pairing mine with simple t-shirts, cute flats, and colorful tops. Adding in your pop-of-color with accessories, shoes, and/or a cute bag will make an easy but adorable bump style. I love pieces that you can dress up or down easily in the summer with just a quick shoe change.

Of course, you can’t have summer without some cute swimwear! My picks as far as maternity swim gear goes focuses on one-pieces and tankinis. While I do think that baby bellies look adorable in bikinis, it just isn’t really something that my ever-growing bust can fit appropriately into right now. Also, be careful if you are exposing your belly to a lot of sun because the added heat can dry out your skin more, causing stretch marks.
Black Top and Color block Bottoms: ASOS Maternity
Blue and White Suit: Motherhood Maternity (similar)

Hahah thank you! This will be the second pregnancy I have had in the AZ heat so (unfortunately) I’m used to it.
Oh I just love that blue swimsuit! I guess I better break down and get one as we are pushing 90’s today here in Nashville and I’m not due til August.

I have never checked out anything from Gap maternity, although I have heard good things:)
You have the cutest maternity style! I managed to avoid the South Carolina heat when I was pregnant with my daughter (as she was born right at the beginning of June), so you are amazing for trucking through the AZ heat with twins! Also, I love the back of that teal dress. SO cute!

Thank you:) That dress is one of my favorite finds! I was born in SC and have found I almost prefer the east coast/southern heat and humidity to AZ.
I am currently prego with baby #3 but it is my first time being pregnant in the summer. It is already hot here in San Diego! I am quickly finding that my new favorite clothing item are skirts and dresses. They have the least amount of restraint! haha! thanks for more ideas!
