Ever feel like you are so wrapped up in everything else that is happening in life that you miss out on the wonderful, little moments?
Lately, this has been the story of my life. With so much going on in my husband’s career as well as my own schedule and of course trying to take everything upon myself, it has felt a little bit like we are rushing everything with our girls lately.
We as parents obviously don’t mean to let the business of life get in the way of finding pleasure in slowing things down and taking in these rare instances, but it happens to even the most organized of us, speaking from experience.
Enjoying The Little Things
My littlest one just starting taking steps a week ago. Firsts like this always just fill our hearts with pride and joy as parents, don’t they? I can’t believe all of those months as a baby are now said and done and she is onto the world of mobility and adventure.
It made me realize that we really need to take the time to watch our children grow, learn, and laugh. They are such amazing beings, no matter what age or stage of life they are in. (although some are arguably more trying for us as parents I’m sure!)
Doing something as simple as taking your kids on an outing for a few hours can make a world of difference in your own mood as well as theirs. They can sense when we are feeling stressed and busy.
Depending on the age of the kids of course, doing something as simple as going out to eat or going to the park can be a much needed and extremely fun few hours.
Taking my youngest down the slide for the first time and watching my oldest run through the sprinklers as she squealed with delight…these are moments that would never want to miss, and things that I will always remember.
So if you can, stop what you’re doing and take a break from the business of life. It is hard, we all have things to get done, but it is so worth it to cherish those lasting moments. They go by so quickly!
*Here’s to enjoying every special moment*

Taking some time, changing the scenery, and just watching Baby Boy grow are some of my favorite things to do…I feel so wonderfully full of everything when I do so! 🙂
Stopping by from Wake Up Wednesday!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I could not agree with you more:)
Great advice! I have to remind myself daily to slow down & just enjoy my kids and being a mom!
I honestly need to do it SO much more!
As a single parent I have to remind myself of this all the time. I’m so busy trying to do enough work to pay the bills that I have to make myself put it aside and just play and have fun with my daughter. She’s 4 and is already telling me that I work too much. Today was a win. My dad got out a jigsaw and cut little wooden doors from scraps of wood and we painted them and covered them in glitter glue. Tomorrow we’ll spray them with lacquer and put them in the forest for fairies. #MommyMonday
That sounds like so much fun! It gets so difficult, especially with all the stresses that we have as adults, to take a break and just watch our kids be little and enjoy life. And hello, FAIRY DOORS? That sounds like much more fun anyways:)
You know, this time, it goes by waaaaay too fast. I was told this a million times, but once you’re in it, you believe it. I see it. I cannot believe my eldest daughter is 12! Where on earth did the time go? I *try* to make the most of everyday, and let the little things go.
It is always a work in progress, but I don’t ever want to miss out on my babies’ progress.
Thanks for sharing via Mommy Monday
XOXO
It really does! I can’t believe I have an almost 3 year old and my baby is going to be 1!!! I can’t even imagine what it will be like when they’re 12:)
