Happy Beauty Thursday! The amount of amazing makeup launches that have been happening lately is crazy! I am just drowning in a sea of makeup palettes, and not mad at it one bit. This week, we are talking about the Grav3yard Girl and Tarte Swamp Queen Palette that launched last week. I got mine when they had an Instagram presale, and I am so glad that I did!
If you haven’t heard of Bunny from Grav3yard Girl on YouTube, you should go check her out! I just adore her real personality and her down-to-earth mannerism. I will always support someone who comes across as true to themselves.
You can find this palette on Tarte’s website. It retails for $45.
Grav3yard Girl and Tarte Swamp Queen Palette
The packaging is made to look like wood grain, with her signature “gator” on the front. That is the symbol for her swamp family on YouTube, and she just stayed so true to herself throughout the entirety of this palette.
The inside of the palette has a great size mirror with a beautiful quote.
This palette comes with 9 eyeshadows, an eyeshadow brush, a bronzer, a blush, and a highlight. All of the shades are named after things that she relates to or important things in her everyday life, which I love. These shadows are the same formulation as other Tarte shadows, and they also smell like vanilla. Yum:)
The first three shades are:
- #SFS (rose gold)
- natural peaches (peachy nude)
- dogman (burnt sienna)
These shades are right up my alley. Warm, reddish brown and peachy colors. Gorgeous! You know I will be hitting pan on the “dogman” shade.
The second three shades are:
- big baby (cream)
- sassy bun (copper peach)
- sippy sippy (glittery brown)
Sassy Bun is my favorite shade out of this entire palette. It’s a gorgeous golden peach color, without being too yellow or too bronzey. Sippy Sippy is pretty, but I have never been a huge fan of chunky glitter. Big Baby is a great base shade for me, but is too light to be used as anything else.
The last three shades are:
- haunting (lavender)
- uncommon (purple slate)
- mancat (deep plum)
This row is probably my favorite overall, because I love the tones of the colors. The purples and mauves are just gorgeous and none of them are overly shimmery.
The face products:
- sweet tea (bronzer)
- gator wings (highlighter)
- does this thing really work? (blush)
The bronzer is a beautiful formula, but it is very warm. It is also shimmery, but in a very flattering way. It will be pretty this summer just as an all over bronzer product. The blush color is a nice neutral pink, but again, I’m not a fan of the chunks of glitter. Thankfully, there isn’t a lot of it in there. The highlight is stunning! It is a beautiful light champagne color… with chunky glitter.
Overall, this palette has a lot of wonderful products. There is a lot of shimmer, so if you aren’t a fan of that then this wouldn’t be for you. I wish there were a few matte shadows in the mix as well, but you can achieve a lot of great looks with this.
Here is one look that I did using the last row of shadows, and “big baby” on the lid. I also used a little bit of “gator wings” in the inner corner, but had a lot of fallout with the glitter in that.
*Cheers to playing with new makeup*
Those colors are really pretty, but the way that you apply them blows me away! Your makeup skills are incredible.
This is a pretty set. Love all the colors & it looks like it goes on nicely.

This looks like a really pretty palette with lots of usable colors! Some palettes have too many crazy shades and since I am pretty lame with my makeup I dont get good use out of it. I need to check it out!

I love the wooden case! You are so good with your make up! Teach me your ways!!!
Gorgeous! I want one! The colors are beautiful and the names are even fun! 🙂
How fun that she has her own palette! I was expecting to see green, but these colors are amazing!
Those are stunning colors….LOVE the sippy sippy shade. I promised myself I wouldn’t purchase any more palettes until I mastered my Urban Decay Naked2 colors…lol. I adore them but sometimes get overwhelmed with all of the options. I’ll definitely check this out though next time I’m in Ulta or Sephora…
I’m just going to move to AZ so I can come over every day and you can do my makeup.

Yes please!:)
Based just on the name, I would have never picked this up but the shades are actually gorgeous! Love it.
I am absolutely IN LOVE with those colors! I will have to look for this ASAP! I’ve been looking to purchase some new makeup!
