Last week, our growing family was blessed with a wonderful baby barbeque/shower to celebrate the upcoming birth of the twins (Read 30 week twin pregnancy update here). The celebration was put together by our wonderful best friends, our sister-in-law and my mother-in-law.
I didn’t want any sort of traditional baby shower this time around. Just a fun get-together with our family and friends that could be there, and that’s exactly what this was! It was the perfect way to celebrate with my husband and get ready for these little twins of ours to make their arrival.
Baby Shower For Twins
I loved the fact that my family was all their together to celebrate. It was wonderful to include my husband and girls in the fun:)
The color scheme, first of all, was so cute! My best friend knows me TOO well and put together a”shower” that was not only elegant, but fun for the guys also:) Mint and pink also happens to be the color scheme in the babies’ nursery.
The food was also (of course) color coordinated with the rest of the get-together.
From dipped rice crispy treats (my favorite pregnancy craving), to some AMAZING chocolate dipped pretzels that had melted Andes mints over them, to mint and pink punch and cupcakes.
Everything had so much thought in it and was more than I could have asked for. That’s saying a lot for an admitted control freak like myself;)
And just look at this twin baby carriage fruit bowl that my best friend made. Seriously, the cutest thing ever!
I mean, obviously, my outfit had to match the theme as well:) (You can see more summer maternity outfit ideas here.) My best friend and her husband just recently announced the news that they are pregnant with their first! YAY! A belly picture was a must.
There was a diaper raffle, which we so appreciated with twins on the way! It’s almost better to get diapers these days then it is to get gifts (not that we don’t love each gift we are given). #parentlife
We did play a few games, but most of them were not your traditional shower games. The “guess what candy is in the diaper” game was so disgusting, but super hilarious at the same time!
All of the guys, and many of the ladies, really enjoyed the “guess what beer is in the baby bottle”. I even got some right just by my sense of smell… what does that say about my beer drinking habits?;)
It’s crazy to think our little family of four will be a family of SIX in a few short weeks. It was such a blessing to spend it with so many of our friends and family members. We are so thankful for all of the love and support that we have and that the twins are going to have!
Thank you again to the special ladies in our life that put this together; my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and best friend. Also to Samantha Marie Photography for the gorgeous photos.
*Cheers to celebrating life’s greatest moments with loved ones*

Thank you, it was a lot of fun!
I love the color scheme! Mint and green is so cute. Doesn’t surprise me at all that you were wicked cute pregnant. Also, I could not do the poopy diaper game at my shower. I don’t do poo. Not even the chocolate variety. You’re a good sport, hahaha!
