Health Update & Starting Advocare 24 Day Challenge

Happy and healthy Thursday!

A few months ago, I wrote this post about my journey to getting back in shape after the birth of the twins. I promised to update you on my journey.

Let’s just say it has been harder than I thought.

After I had our second child, I went full-blown health addict and was in the best shape of my life. This time around with the twins, with the emergency c-section and the health issues I have been having, my health/fitness journey has been much more difficult.

I was put on some medication to help with potential ulcers and terrible acid reflux… it worked, but it also caused weight gain. Then I was put on some birth control in order to help with issues caused by my uterine fibroid. No thank you! It caused me to gain almost 10 pounds in a month and a half. Needless to say that I stopped that ASAP.

I have also been battling with some self-confidence issues since the twins were born, and I really want to get back to a place where I am happy with myself since the issue of self-confidence has always had a really negative impact on me mentally and emotionally.

So, while I don’t have any dramatic changes to report, I have been able to get back into my intense workout and (mostly) clean eating habits. I won’t ever give up wine.:)

Starting Advocare 24 Day Challenge

I am going to preface this by saying that I have never been a believer in the use of anything but handwork, exercise and eating right to get into shape. I have tried supplements in the past when I was younger, but have never gone for the “quick fix”.

I do not see this challenge as such. I see it as a good jumpstart into a healthy year and a fit me.

starting advocate 24 day challenge I was contacted by an Advocare representative to do start the Advocare 24 Day Challenge with a partner, as they are doing a nationwide challenge that will begin on the 11th, in exchange for a full and honest review. I will be posting at the very end of the challenge with before and after pictures, as well as a full run down of what the challenge consisted of, pros & cons, and what my overall thoughts are at the end of it.

This is going to be something that I combine with my clean eating and exercise regimen, so it is not going to be relying on just this to see results.

I won’t lie, I am slightly nervous about starting it. But also excited!

Have any of you tried this challenge or challenges like this? I would love to hear your results!

The results and info post will be up around the second week of February after the challenge is complete. I will be nothing but honest and upfront, like always, about how the challenge went and what I thought of the products.

*Cheers to healthy minds, healthy bodies, and being fit for ourselves*

  3. Good luck with your challenge! I hope through exercise, clean eating and this challenge you start to feel more like yourself 🙂 I just started a 30-day yoga challenge, since at the end of last year I started doing yoga as part of my pre-work morning routine. I’m excited to do it and to get back into a routine of exercising more regularly.
