frank Body Lip Scrub and Balm Review

This is fairly new to the frank line. I got it as a gift for Christmas and I was so excited! I am always looking for something that will exfoliate and hydrate my lips without causing any kind of irritation.

I used to use, and still would use without a doubt, a combination of granulated sugar and olive oil. I love using that DIY, but this combination comes in handy with the extreme balm included.

The lip scrub itself is a primary combination of coffee grounds and coffee oil, both of which are the signature in most of the frank Body products. It also contains raw sugar, beeswax, and macadamia oil.

What I love about this scrub is that it really exfoliates, but doesn’t feel like you are just scraping away at your lips. Some lip scrubs can be a little bit too abrasive for that delicate area. The smell of this is typical to their products, sweet coffee.

The one downside that I found to the scrub is that it is does leave a heavy reside on your lips. I think this was done so that you wouldn’t have to moisturize if you didn’t want to. However, to me, it feels a little bit greasy. I usually just wipe it all off and even rinse with a little face wash before applying the balm. It’s worth it to me because it works so well!

The balm is great. The main ingredients in it include lanolin, vitamin E, coconut and grapeseed oil, as well as coffee arabic oil.

It is very thick though, as lanolin is the main ingredient. I would recommend using this at night before bed, or in the morning on days that you aren’t wearing much makeup. It doesn’t have too much of a scent to it, and I love that after putting it on at night, my lips feel smooth and hydrated in the morning.

I haven’t had any issues with irritation or breakouts caused by this, which is huge for me because I have very sensitive lips that have reactions to a lot of products.  You can find this duo on the frank Body website and it retails for $14.95. If you’re in the market for something like this, I would highly recommend the scrub and balm duo.

*Cheers to plump, smooth lips*
